At Tricky Bills we’re working to help educate consumers about Medical Billing and trying to help people find savings. Barbara is a trained nurse, medical coder, process redesign and change management expert and a leader who trained medical billing teams to improve current revenue and billing processes. Barbara ensures that Tricky Bills provides an accurate, representative and transparent view of medical services so patients can get the best care at the best price.

Casey Stuart conceived of the idea for Tricky Bills after receiving many medical bills that were expensive confusing, and very difficult to vet. In following the news cycle on healthcare transparency, she saw an opportunity to develop a business that could help people understand and compare cost of medical services and procedures between providers and ultimately find savings. In her career as a digital media executive, Casey serves as a connector who builds strategic programs, products and partnerships that utilize data, content and creative to elevate messages and deliver positive results.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Barbara Duker was Casey’s first phone call when trying to figure out how to bring Tricky Bills to life. Barbara brings in-depth knowledge of product development, business development and monetization strategies from her work at major media companies like Disney and Comcast. Currently, Barbara specializes in working with early stage startups to develop products, business plans, generate funding to enter the marketplace. Barbara also has a personal connection with The Tricky Bills mission after she learned her prenatal son required a surgery soon after he was born. The unclear costs of the surgery and high medical bills created more stress in an already tense situation and she agreed that there was an opportunity to help people.
